France has the largest number of UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Europe. It receives around 83 million foreign tourists annually, the most of any country in the world. France is a developed country and has the sixth-largest economy by nominal GDP. It ranks ninth by purchasing power parity. Financial services, banking, and insurance sector are an important part of the French economy. France is part of the European single market which represents more than 500 million consumers.
