Percentage to CGPA formulas

These are the three methods available in the calculator. Which one applies depends on your board, university or the application form you are filling.

10-point scale, divide by 9.5

CGPA = Percentage ÷ 9.5

Used by CBSE and many Indian boards and universities, where percentage is derived as CGPA multiplied by 9.5.

10-point scale, divide by 10

CGPA = Percentage ÷ 10

A simpler linear method used by some institutions and application forms.

4-point scale, approximate

GPA = (Percentage ÷ 100) × 4

A rough equivalent for 4-point systems. Universities abroad and credential evaluators often use their own grade bands instead.
